Greenlist

A greenlist is the opposite of a blacklist—it's a list of trusted senders whose emails are prioritized by inbox providers. By consistently sending relevant, non-spammy content and maintaining a positive sender reputation, email marketers can improve deliverability and reach their audience more reliably.

Definition: A greenlist is the opposite of a blacklist, it is a list of trusted email senders or IP addresses that have been whitelisted by email providers and spam filters. When an email address or domain is on a greenlist, emails from that sender are more likely to be delivered straight to the recipient’s inbox, rather than being filtered into spam or junk folders.

Being on a green list is highly beneficial for email marketers, as it improves the likelihood that their emails will reach their intended audience. It’s typically the result of maintaining a good sender reputation, avoiding spam complaints, and sending relevant, non-spammy content.

Analogy: Think of a green list like being on a VIP guest list for an exclusive event. If you’re on the list, you bypass the bouncer and walk straight into the venue (inbox). If you’re not on the list, you might be sent to the back of the line or not allowed in at all (spam folder).
